Dads play an incredibly important role in our developmental and emotional well-being. So many of us look to our dads for direction and that feeling of security in our lives. As the old adage goes, anyone can father a child, but being a dad takes a lifetime.
This year for Father’s Day, we invited our homeowners from Serenitas lifestyle communities across the country to share their stories, fond memories, tips and, of course, some dad jokes to create the Book of Dad. The book features heartfelt recollections of homeowners’ fathers or their own experience of fatherhood, sharing many life lessons and memories, from holiday adventures to acts of kindness. The Book of Dad serves up a wealth of knowledge and good humour from homeowners across the Serenitas lifestyle communities.
Many of the memories shared by our homeowners reveal the immense impact their fathers have had on their lives, influencing who they are, how they treat others and the many experiences they now share with their families, from the type of holidays they take to the respect and kindness they show others.
All the stories, fatherly advice and jokes shared are underpinned with a genuine sense of fun and gentle kindness. The Book of Dad is our way of recognising the important role dads play in being there and actively sharing life skills with their children from a place of love. The true legacy of our dads is ensuring the health and wellbeing of their children, and the Book of Dad is one way we can say thank you to those fatherly figures still with us and for those whose memories are etched forever in our hearts.
